2010: Breakaway

2010: FIRST Breakaway

2010 FIRST Breakaway Logo

Summary:

Two alliances of three teams each compete on a 27' x 54' field with bumps attempting to earn points by collecting soccer balls in their goals. Additional bonus points are earned for each robot not touching the field at the end of the match.

Our Progress:

MARS is currently prototyping kicking and punching mechanisms and building a six wheel drive train. The outer wheels will be slick and the inner wheels will be "sticky" to provide traction for going over the bumps. We believe a good robot will be able to go over bumps and through the tunnels quickly. During the last 20 seconds, we think the tunnels will be bottlenecked with robots rushing to the platform so we are trying to make our robot scale the bump quickly.
